Privacy Policy

Employer Check ("we", "us", "our") is a registered business name of Voxsanity Pty Ltd (ABN 82 700 348 867), trading as Employer Check.

Voxsanity Pty Ltd is registered in New South Wales, Australia.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

When you use the Employer Check search tool, we do not require you to create an account or provide personal information. The company name or ABN you enter is used only to query government data sources and return a result.

We collect the following data automatically:

• IP address (used for rate limiting only, not stored beyond the current session)
• The ABN or company name searched (stored in our results cache for up to 24 hours, then deleted)
• The result returned (stored in cache for up to 24 hours)

We use Netlify for website hosting. Netlify may collect standard web server logs including IP addresses. Netlify's privacy policy is at netlify.com/privacy.

We use Supabase to store our results cache and the ASIC business names database. Data is stored on servers in the Asia-Pacific region. Supabase's privacy policy is at supabase.com/privacy.

The Australian Business Register contains ABN records for sole traders. These records include the individual's name and may constitute personal information under the Privacy Act 1988. Employer Check displays ABN data as returned by the Australian Business Register API. We do not store individual names separately from the ABR result cache. Cache entries expire after 24 hours.

If you register for API access, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store full card details. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy. Email communications are sent via Resend. Resend's privacy policy is at resend.com/privacy.

We use information collected to:

• Return search results
• Rate-limit requests to prevent abuse
• Operate and improve the tool
• Respond to disputes and enquiries

We do not sell data. We do not share data with third parties except as described above (Netlify, Supabase, Stripe, Resend) or as required by law.

Under the Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to request correction or deletion. To make a request, email hello@employercheck.com.au with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days.

Search results cache: 24 hours maximum, then deleted.

API customer data: retained for the duration of the customer relationship plus 7 years for tax purposes.

Employer Check uses Google Analytics to understand how the tool is used (which pages people land on, and whether a check completed). Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser (for example _ga) to tell one visit apart from another. These are analytics cookies.

Analytics is off by default. No analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set until you choose "Accept" in the banner shown on your first visit. If you choose "Decline", the Google Analytics script is never loaded at all, so it cannot set a cookie.

We do not use advertising networks, we do not run advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not sell or share analytics data. Your choice is stored in your own browser and can be changed at any time using the control below.

When analytics is on, it operates under Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can also opt out across all sites using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
